About RAYROCK

Creative at Heart. Strategic by Design. Always in Your Corner.

Hey, I’m Rachel, designer, writer, and founder of RAYROCK DESIGN.

One of my clients once told me I was her rock during a stressful transition from another designer. That’s where the name comes from, because this work isn’t just about building websites. It’s about offering calm, clarity and creative direction when you need it most.

With over 16 years of experience, I’ve supported professionals, nonprofits, and small business owners across various industries.

I’m creative and tech-savvy, so you don’t have to choose between design and function, you get both. Our collaboration will be custom. I’ve lived all over the world, and I’ve learned how to work with all kinds of people, in all kinds of ways.

Wherever you’re at in your business, I’ll meet you there, and help you build a site you’re proud to share.

Why Design Matters?

  • 75% of people judge your credibility based on design alone
  • 94% of first impressions are design-related
  • Slow, clunky sites drive away visitors and cost you leads
  • A modern, mobile-friendly website keeps you competitive and connected

My first word was “See!”

Before I could talk in full sentences, I was pointing at everything, and saying “see! See!”, always observing and noticing the world around me. I’ve always been visual.

BABY YEARS

Drawing, painting, and creating nonstop.

Art was my first love. I spent hours sketching, experimenting with color, and making anything I could imagine.

CHILDHOOD

Collaging became my obsession.

I made monthly collages for my binders, mixing photos, headlines, and magazine cutouts. It was my way of capturing memories and expressing creativity. Little did I know that I was already doing graphic design!

PRE-TEEN YEARS

Formal art lessons and early design training.

I took pre-college art and graphic design courses at the University of Michigan as a teen. It gave me a strong foundation and deepened my love for visual storytelling.

TEEN YEARS

A BFA from Pratt

I studied Communication Design at the Pratt Institute of Art and Design in Brooklyn, NY, and earned my BFA in Communication Design, learning how to combine art and message with purpose.

COLLEGE YEARS

Interned at a graphic design firm.

During college, I spent a summer back in Chile deepening my knowledge and gaining hands-on experience at a high paced design firm.

SUMMER IN CHILE

16+ years of experience

Over the years I've racked up 16+ years in design and digital work. From agencies to freelance work, I’ve helped professionals and small businesses bring their brands to life online.
